Dex off to Oz and Johnny to Invers

Dexter will be missing from southern racetracks this week as he has been sent to Melbourne this week with Kentuckiana Lodge stars in Four Starzzz Flash and Bit of a Legend. Both horses will race this weekend, with "Flash" in either the Ballarat Cup against all the guns or the Pure Steel, a $20,000 free-for-all. This will be his final hitout before the Hunter Cup the following week. Bit of a Legend will race in the Victoria Derby Heats and will be looking to build on his outstanding performaces in Australia last season, culiminating in a Breeders Crown victory.
John will seek to take advantage of Dexter's absence, heading on a southern sojourn to Invercargill for their cup day on Saturday. John will take the reins behind the John Parsons trained Artiface. After a long, injury enforced layoff, Artiface has raced 3 times in his comeback, with a close up 4th last start in the Northern Southland Cup. With no Terror To Love to worry about this time, southern star Franco Ledger will probably start at prohibitive odds.
John is expected to pick up some of Dexter's regular drives including the Murray Swain trained Supersub and the Murray Brown trained Compton Street, both of which will be top chances. He is sure to pick up some other good drives after acceptances are out.
