RJ looks at Mot

Grass track racing returns to Motukarara and as usual, the fields are large in size. The team are represented by 4 runners, starting with Escape The Fate in Race 2. Robert looks at their chances:

Race 2 - Escape The Fate - "This is another chance in the amateur drivers race. We have an in form driver on in Paul Wallace and from the draw will probably look to push forward early. This was a tactic that seemed to work from a similar draw 3 starts ago."

"Providing he turns up on his game, he is a definite chance".

Race 5 - Kotare Kano - "Jason will drive him again. He is a funny horse but does have a motor. He is drawn back on the frontline again which is a huge help. He will be definitely going forward early as he did when a last start 2nd on this course."

"Definitely an each way chance in what on paper is not a strong form race".

Race 7 - Cabo Wabo - "Gets a good draw from which to work with for once. Had no hope last time in the boys' race at Waikouaiti after getting buried on fence. Definitely rates as a place hope at least."

Race 10 - Formidable - "Was very poor 1st up after a great run of form on the coast over Xmas. In a 18 horse field and off 20m, he will be needing all sorts of luck".

Better Than Money (Invercargill R9) will race down South again Sunday. After a good win at Forbury two starts ago he produced another top effort at Winton last Friday leading up, only to be gunned down up the passing lane in a very quick 2.57.8 for the 2400m mobile. The draw this time is not ideal, but Tim has options drawn in behind Shinko, a horse that generally has good gate speed."
