John looks at Addington and Auckland
When compared to some weeks recently, this week is a quieter one for the stable. There are two runners in at Addington tonight and two at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.
Rome's Burning debuts for the stable in Race 4 tonight. "His work has been good since joining us and if he can put onto the track what he has been doing at home, he is a definite chance". A number of people are obviously thinking the same way as despite the inglorious 08080 formline, the bookie's have him as a $3.80 2nd favourite on the fixed odds.
Jason drives Cabo Wabo in race 9, a field with some real depth for the boys race. "He's been going honest races, is suited by the draw and if things pan out for him he must be some chance".
Johnny's other drives for the night are Lucky Monarch in Race 2, Bad Girlsrbest in Race 3 and Elle Galleon in Race 7, the big 3yr old sales trot. All must be accorded some hope, with perhaps Bad Girlsrbest the best of them.
Tomorrow night, Sleepy Tripp and Robyn's Raider represent the stable in a precursor to Auckland Cup night next weekend. "Both have been working well and have apparently travelled superbly. Its just a shame that we have been given no favours with the draws. Dex drives so we will probably be looking for some of his magic to rub off on the night."
