Thursday night at Forbury

In what appears to be be a comparatively quiet week for South Island harness, the Easter weekend kicks off tonight at Forbury Park with 4 stable runners engaged.

A first starter for the stable is Gambler's Delight in Race 5. A 4yr old Bettor's Delight mare, she qualified in November last year. A recent addition to the stable ranks she has had a couple of workout runs to ready her for tonight's race. She has hit the line well in both of these workouts, but as Johnny notes, "we will know lot more after tonight's run".

After two outstanding wins recently, Kabet goes round on another heat of the Nevele R in Race 7 this evening. "It will potentially be quite a tactical race. The two horses to beat are Cran's two and they are drawn on her inside. To add to that there doesn't appear a lot of scope for mid-race pressure either. In saying that she is a class filly as she has proved recently and if she gets any luck is clearly good enough to win again".

Graduate Under Fire (Race 9) went massive in both of his races, first up for the stable at Westport. After an emphatic victory on day one by over 13 lengths, he narrowly went under on day two, after doing a power of work. "He has drawn out wide but absolutely flies the tapes. He will be driven to go forward and on his work at home, he must be a great chance of giving Jase another winner."

The final runner for the night is Better Than Money in Race 11. "The one draw from the stand has proven his undoing in the past. That is the only worry. His work suggests that he is in similar form to when he last raced. He went a nice run at the workouts last Saturday behind Highview Tommy, so we are expecting a big run".

John has 4 outside drives for the night. The best of these would probably be Yankee Horizon trained by Craig White in Race 1.
