"Gunman" delivers in style for the Beales

In just his 3rd start for the stable, Graduate Under Fire further underlined his potential with a convincing victory in tonight's "Boys"race at Forbury.  Driven confidently by stable junior driver, Jase "Gunman" Thomas, the victory was made even more satisfying with the presence on course of part owner Ramon Beale. As "Ray's" wife and fellow part owner Maureen later told me, "he will be over the moon! He'd stayed up in Dunedin for the races, especially to see him go round. It'll give him a real boost."

As mentioned previously Ray's health has not been the best of late and he has been spending 5 days a week in Dunedin receiving ongoing medical treatment. Then it has been home for the weekend for a well earned rest. To be able to go from the hospital, to the track tonight, and see his pride and joy win will really lift Ray's spirits.

Real credit for the win must also be accorded to Jason. This was his 7th win for the season from just 77 drives. Jase is an important cog in the Dunn stable operation and there are few young guys out there working the hours that Jason does without complaint.  Maureen was really taken with Jason's drive and very eager to find out the pedigree of the young man that his mates affectionately call "Gunman".
