High hopes for a better weekend for the stable

After the great run of form over previous weeks, last week was somewhat of a downer with below par performances across the board. A week is a long time in racing however, and the stable head into premier night at Addington with a renewed vigour and confidence.

John looks at the weekend for us :

 Premier night at Addington:

Race 2 Mashika - "The run last week was a good performance. She meets a smart field of fillies and mares, but has drawn well. Hopefully she can get a soft trip in the trail, or 3 back and be running home with purpose."

Race 4 Lumos - "This horse has been running great races. The draw sort of levels things out a bit, but he is due to put his foot in the till and looks a great eachway bet".

Race 5 Cullens Spirit - "This fella has been going much better races than it might appear on paper. Ricky was really pleased with the run last week against a good field. He has a great draw that we will look to take advantage of and is definitely the best roughie for us for the weeekend".

Race 6 Hurricane Bromac, Radar and Samuel James - "Hurricane Bromac was real stiff last time and never got a shot at them. He is drawn much better this time, but it is a good field. Definitely a place hope on his best forrm. Radar is up against it yet again, but racks up another start closer to gaining "The Met Bonus". Samuel James has had a wee freshen up since last racing. He trialled nicely on Monday and should be running on".

Race 7 Massimo - "Was running on ok last time behind Border Control. Meets an ok field here. We will be looking to take shortcuts and get a bit of place money".

Race 8 Kabet -  "Put a big line through last week's performance. She has a good draw again, but won't have to work early, which was her undoing last week. Hopefully she can secure a nice trail, or at worst be 3 back. Her work this week has been good and she must be a great place hope with a peak run."

Race 10 Return To Sender -  "Returns to the track facing Group One company first up. Has a shocking draw and will need a stack of luck to figure".

Oamaru Sunday

Race 8 Graduate Under Fire - "Was a bit disappointing in his two starts up north. May be coming towards the end of it this prep, but with a peak run can be right in this".

Race 9 Blazin N Cullen and Franco Nelson -  "It will be quite exciting to see Franco Nelson go round first up. He trialled up well on Monday and should be winning for fun. Blazin N Cullen looks to have a class edge on the other runners and should be completing a short priced quinella".

Race 11 Lauramegan - "Ran home well for her placing at Ashburton. Hasn't been well served with the draw, but can certainly run a placing at least".
