A quieter weekend numbers wise
Following on from a busy weekend last week up in Nelson, this week stable runners are spread between the 3 South lsland venues of Forbury Park, Addington and Oamaru.
Forbury - Thursday
Race 6 - Dalness - Has the ability and has been backed in two starts since a spell. The draw wont help, but this appears to be a drop back in class from Canterbury racing. Must be a place hope.
Race 9 - Cullens Spirit - It would pay to ignore the formline for this one. He does have the ablility and has generally run a lot better races than what it appears on paper. If he can get a run through from the 2nd line a definite eachway hope at huge odds.
Addington - Friday
Race 7 - Mach Banner and Samuel James. It is only a small field so this will help negate the wide draws. Samuel ran a solid race in the jewels and is always thereabouts whacking away. Mach Banner resumes from a spell and will probaby need the run. His class will take him a long way though.
The well performed Mach Banner resumes at Addington over the 1950m.
Oamaru - Sunday
Race 5 - Cullens Spirit - Follow up on the run at Forbury. The wide draw no assist in this one though.
Race 7 - Massimo - While there are a couple of nice ones engaged, his run last start was a beauty. His stand start manners are generally super so if he steps expect Johnny to let him run along and make things tough on the backmarkers.
Race 11 - Neve Franco - Is fresh up after a 3 month break. Has trialled up ok, but will probably need this first up run.
