And we're underway with the 2013-2014 season

While the 2012-2013 season was a great effort by the stable in terms of wins (90), hopefully this is merely a stepping-stone in terms of the future. In a sense it was also a bit of a step into the unknown as we moved to the Woodend Beach stable. Having now seen the benefits of the beach, we are hoping to move onto bigger and better things this season.

There are a number of stable runners who have met their mark, or who have moved onto other pastures so we are always open to new horses entering the stable. If you have a horse that has unsoundness issues, or that you think may just benefit from a change of scenery, always feel free to contact Robert or John.

In terms of proven stable runners, Jivin Cullen and Sleepy Tripp are both back in work, Ten Diamonds is getting close to the workouts, while Mach Banner will target a couple of 5 or more wins races over the next month. Top 3yr old Franco Nelson is also back in the stable. Amongst some of the new stock coming through, watch out over the coming months for Artismee, Mr Meddle and Lovemetwotimes.

Back to the track though and we have the 7 runners going round this week:

Addington Thursday

Race 3 - Cabo Wabo. Looked unlucky to not get a piece of it in last week's boys' race. Poorly drawn this time, but the field is not overly strong so a definite place hope at odds.

Race 6 Massimo and Romes Burning. Massimo has been running nice races in stronger fields. From a good draw and with his good stand start manners, he is sure to put himself in the race and must be an eachway hope. The same really applies to Romes Burning, who should be able to negate his 10m handicap with ease. Both horses will be competitive in this field.

Kurow Sunday

Race 7 - Cullens Spirit and Elios. Cullens Spirit has had little luck this campaign. He has the draw to take up a forward position and must be some hope of a placing. Elios is a class act and should really be the one to beat. He has proven himself in some good company throughout his 3yr old campaign and you would expect him to stamp his mark here.

Race 8 - Blazin N Cullen and Lionels Meddle. Both horses have been running good races. Blaze went super last time and gets a frontline draw here in his 1st stand start. Providing he brings his "A" game and cops the stand start he is a great chance. Lionel has been a revelation since his resumption. He all but beat Mach Banner the other night and is not badly placed here off  just 10m behind. Again both horses should be big hopes with any luck.
