Johnny to shoulder massive driving load

With younger brother Dexter off to Australia again this weekend, John has picked up a big share of driving responsibilities. While we have gone over stable hopes for the night, we highlight a couple of his big race prospects on Premier Night at Auckland:

Auckland - Race 6 - John continues his association with superstar filly Venus Serena. An impressive last start winner in good company at Addington, she returns to the scene of two of her Group One victories from last season. From a handy draw she will take a power of beating in the Grp 2 Peter Breckon Memorial Ladyship Stakes.

Race 7 - Regulus - In Dexter's absence, John takes the reins behind the Cran Dalgety trained Regulus. While disappointing over cup week, clearly he is a better horse than that. However, he will need to be as he tackles last seasons top 2yr olds in Maxim and Sky Major.
