Blazin N Cullen highlights New Year's eve for stable

While all eyes were firmly on the Group One action at Alexandra Park, it was the well performed Blazin N Cullen who provided the one victory for the day at  Rangiora. With John away in Auckland, Blazin N Cullen was driven on this occasion by the in form Gerard O'Reilly. Once again he showed the new weapon he has in his arsenal, his ability to sit parked and out grind the oppostion. In a real slog to the line, he was able to outstay the oppostion in a very fast 3.13.2 for the 2600m stand. This was the 4yr old Christian Cullen gelding's 9th win from 36 starts, with another 12 placings to boot. He has now bankrolled $79,982 in stake-earnings and does not look like stopping any time soon. A trip to Blenheim for the Grp 2 Pelorus Classic is almost certain to be on the radar.

Blazin N Cullen (Christian Cullen - Rye Hanover) after another of his wins earlier in the season.

Other runners for the day at Rangiora:

Jivin Cullen - Went around and led in Blazin N Cullen's race, but tired from the turn after having set strong pace.

Kotare Yassi - A good debut run. Settled back and ran home with purpose on the back of very fast closing sectionals. One to watch in coming starts.
