Nikola to get back to the winning way at Nelson

The 3yr old Mach Three gelding Nikola looks to get back the winning feeling on Day One of Nelson tomorrow. Part of a 10 strong attack of the Dunn team, Nikola has undoubtedly been one of the real unlucky runners of the stable over the past 3 months. He has invariably come up against some very strong fields including some class 3yr olds, some bad draws, or a combination of both. Tomorrow's contest again sees a rotten draw - 16 - but he does look the class act of the field and draw and all this is a race he really should be winning.

Consistent 3yr old Nikola looks for win two of his career on Day One at Nelson

A big watch runner for the stable will be a 3yr old on debut, The Pacman in Race 2. The impeccably bred colt, Christian Cullen - Black Maire, is a full brother to former star juvenile Lauraella (25 starts, 10 wins, 7 placings, $649,946) and the well performed The Muskeg Express. He has only been with the stable for a little over a month and has really pleased with what he has done to date. He is another who has drawn a shocker - 17. In a field bereft of any real standout form, he must be accorded every chance on debut.

There look to be a number of big chances for the day with - Lumos, Donegal's Guest, Lauramegan and Crackaheiny all in super form.
