Jivin Cullen takes on the big guns in cup

It has been a big 8 days for Jivin Cullen, as he takes another step forward in his career, contesting tonight's Group One Auckland Cup. After been flown over to Sydney last Thursday, he went on to run a very game 4th behind Abettorpunt in the Bohemia Crystal. Driver John Dunn was very pleased with his charge. "He's gone great. They have run a record and he has had had to come wide as they are really sprinting from the 400m. He never stopped trying up that long straight."

Dexter takes the drive tonight and from a handy draw, will be looking to take a foward position early. This is a fine field and has most of New Zealand's top pacers going around. With declared tactics from some this week, it may turn out to be a "survival of the fittest." As is often the case in these big races, luck can play a major part. If this is the case tonight, then here's hoping, Jivin Cullen is in the fight when the whips are cracking!
