Elios and Franco Nelson to take on champion mare

Impressive as they were in last week's lead up race, top 4yr olds Elios and Franco Nelson may need to find more still, if they are to trouble champion mare Adore Me in this week's Taylor Mile. Run at Group One level over 1700m, the Taylor Mile has seen some of the greats of New Zealand harness on its honours board over the years. In typical fashion trainer Robert Dunn is bullish over the hopes of his two. "She's a great mare alright, but we're not going to go down without a fight." "I thought both of our guys were super the other night. Elios is just so hard to get past when in front and Franco Nelson was a certainty beat. He'll improve lengths on last week's run." The big question is whether the 4yr old boys can do what the champion Terror To Love was  unable to do last start - beat the mare. While the draws will probably mean that Adore Me bails out of the early speed, she is rarely used off the gate. This will mean that any slackening of the pace will no doubt see her launched. That said, John will no doubt be waiting for the familiar blue colours to be around serving it up at some point . It is sure to be a superb contest.  Good luck to the connections of our stable runners.
