69 the lucky number for Price Of Fame
The former 68 start maiden Price Of Fame has finally broken its "duck", with an emphatic maiden win coming at start 69. In what was also the horse's first start for the stable, manners were the key early in the race. Once he managed to find the top, it was a well judged front-running drive from Sam Ottley, that saw him lead throughout, eventually getting home by a comfortable length.
The horse was formerly trained and part-owned by Tim Trathen. He had run 19 placings for Trathen before his recent sale to Nigel Armstrong and another of his Westview Syndicates. Armstrong has had great success over the years with Dunn stable runners and for the Westview Number 11 syndicate, this purchase proved an instant success. It was great to see many of the syndicate in attendance this afternoon.
The authoriative nature of his victory, an overall time of 3.26 for the 2600m, home in 800m 60.7 and 400m 28.8, suggests that this may not be the horse's last win either.
Happy connections post-race Sam and Price Of Fame
