Robbie Burns takes big step forward

He has been the heartbreak horse for the stable for much of this season, but on Friday night, Robbie Burns showed why he has attracted some big money offers from Australia with a gutsy win. Drawn well he stayed out of the early rush before ending up well placed in the 1-1 for driver James Stormont. The hot pace set by the pacemaking Prince Of Pops had many gasping as they turned for home. After ducking for the passing lane at the 200m, Robbie Burns still had many lengths to make up as both the leader and breeze horse Change Stride shot clear. However, in the last 50m he really dug deep, and got in the deciding stride right on the winning post.

Robbie Burns is now likely to join stablemate Say My Name in the derby prelude this Friday where they are also likely to meet Follow The Stars, Hughie Green and Express Stride, along with many other class 3yr olds.
