Matt just one win away from driving in premier ranks

The good news story of Matt Purvis looks set to add another chapter very soon. Purvis recorded his 9th win of the season on Friday evening partnering Culinary Delight to an impressive victory in the "boys" race. Given a perfect trip in the trail throughout, the 4yr old Lis Mara mare dashed to the lead at the 150m and was going away at the line a convincing winner by 1.25 lengths.

Since joining the stable in early January, the mare has had 4 starts for Friday's win and two seconds prior to this win. She appears a progressive type and will be no doubt be placed to good effect in the next couple of months.

With this win, Matt is now on 14 career wins, needing just the one further win to allow him to drive in premier night company. Judging by the impressive debut win of Maximum Power on debut, win 15 could well come in the junior drivers race at Thursday night's Rangiora meet to be held at Addington.

Culinary Delight a convincing winner of the boys race at Addington on Friday.
