Miss Daisy back in winning form at the park
While her work had been good, the biggest concern for Miss Daisy at Alexandra Park last evening was always going to be overcomimg the draw.
Eased off the gate early by Tony Herlihy, she settled in the rear group, but was quickly on the move at the 1300m, breezing momentarily, before ending up parked with a round to go. As hot favourite On The Town faced serious pressure down the back straight from Ideal Quest, Miss Daisy was beautifully placed waiting for her opportunity. Able to slide into the trail from the 400m, she looked to have a massive chance as they headed for home. Once into the passing lane she came with an undeniable finish to get up narrowly, but well, by a half neck in 1.55.4 for the mile, with the last 800m run in 57.3 and the last 400m 29.4.
Last night's win was the 4th in a 23 start career for Miss Daisy and takes her stakes won to $37,382 for owners Ross and Angela Gordon. She was fresh up after a six week break and is sure to take plenty of benefit from the run.

Earlier in the night, another one owned by the Gordons' in Robbie Burns had "next up" written all over him, flashing home for third after being denied raced room until the 100m. He finished a fast closing third behind Sir Ritchie, being beaten just a head and a neck.
The other runner for the night was Culinary Delight that ran a handy 4th after leading, in its assignment against some higher assessed pacers over the 2700m. Being her first start since early December, she will improve heaps with the run.
