Gotta Go Ya Hu a welcome addition to two year old ranks

Robert and John are excited about a new addition to the stable in two year old gelding Gotta Go Ya Hu. A son of Big Jim, Gotta Go Ya Hu is out of an unraced mare in Hu Hu, a daughter of a good race mare in Perfect Paua, 13 starts,  4 wins, $33,782.

Gotta Go Ya Hu had impressed in a recent trial at Rangiora, beating home a subsequent debut winner from the Purdon/Rasmussen stable in Vincent. On that occasion the 2000m mobile was run in 2.30.4, the final 800m in 57.2, the last 400m in 28.4. John was watching the trial and was instantly impressed with what he saw.

"I'd been on the lookout for a two year old up and running to buy for Clive and Rona McKay. Clive had indicated that he wasn't that interested in buying one at the sales and instead wanted to invest in a two year old showing promise."

"I talked to Steve Dolan and to Dexter who had driven the horse in the trial. Both were very complimentary, the horse ticked all the boxes and the sale followed from there."

While Gotta Go Ya Hu will get his opportunities to race at two, John feels that he will be a star as a three year old given time.
