Harness jewels update
It is just a month away from this year's big Harness Jewels Day, so where are things at for stable runners?
Dalness Xchange looks set to get a start in the four year old mares division, the Diamond, worth $150,000. With earnings of $34,168.10 she sits in 6th place. This is perhaps the most open of all of this year's divisions and a good draw could see her a major player on the big day.
Billy Badger is similarly well placed in the two year old Emerald for the colts and geldings and is also in 6th place with earnings of $16,400. He is certain to get a start and a good draw could see him competitive once again. He has already beaten table topper Pacing Major once this season and could be a giant-killer in this division.
Kotare Yael is in 9th place in the three year old Emerald, however, he is an unlikely runner on jewels day.
The four year old Emerald is a hotly contested division. Robbie Burns is safely in, sitting in 7th place at present with $37,751 after placings in the Taylor Mile and Messenger. However, Say My Name and Little Rascal are both on the cusp of the top 12. After missing both the Taylor Mile and Messenger, Say My Name has come on good since then and is likely to race in the north next week. He is just $3000 out of the top 12 at the moment.
