John looking to back up a superb day one tomorrow

There is no doubt that the Nelson summer meeting is fast becoming a favourite for John Dunn. A five win bag yesterday was a superb return for the Woodend Beach reinsman who added a further four placings to his winning tally. With three new runners joining the day one heroes, look for more of the same tomorrow afternoon.

The day's feature is the Nelson Cup over the 3000m and Graduate Under Fire is joined by a newcomer to the meet in Alta Orlando. Alta Orlando was a close up 5th in the Ashburton Cup at his last start after doing a power of work in the running. The positive thing from that run was the way that he stepped at the start. If he can replicate this effort tomorrow, he looks certain to be a major player here. He has pleased the stable with his progress since that run.

Graduate Under Fire never got into yesterday's prelude and will need to step with real purpose early to get into affairs. He is a much better on the pace runner and deadheated in this race last year. He would be a place hope with a peak run.

The rest of the day kicks off for the stable with Out Of Aces in Race One. He never got into things on the first day after a slow start, but does meet a field here with limited form. With any luck he must at least be a place hope in this line-up.

Johnny White contests Race Four. There was plenty of merit to his run on the first day and he worked hard in the run to the line for his second placing. He looks a very good winning hope here.

Living Legend in Race Five produced a much improved run on the first day for the Westview crew. He has a wide draw to contend with here, but if he can get into the race early on, he must be at least a place hope again here.

Foreverman was very impressive on the first day and was always going to be an improver from that run. Look for him to step and get into the race early on. He must be a great eachway prospect again in Race Six.

Gotta Go Ya Hu is another fresh runner in Race Seven. He has a wide draw to overcome, but has been trialling up a storm. He looks much too good for this field.

Returntorocknroll and Kotare Mist were both impressive first day winners and contest Race Ten. This is a big step up in company, but they are both well mannered which is a huge assist. They must both be accorded place hopes.

The final runner of the day is Cmeerock in Race Eleven. She has been racing in some very good Canterbury fields. She is sure to give a good sight and can end the two day meet in style for the stable.
