Carley Maguire looks to back up Addington win

A smart winner at Addington on debut last Friday, three year old filly Carley Maguire faces a quick step up in grade at Rangiora this afternoon. However, such was the nature of that win, the pacing bred filly could again be too smart for her rivals.

Raced by Sam Langrope and her driver today Ross Houghton, the Somebeachsomewhere filly had been well supported going into her debut race last Friday. A good second in her qualifying trial on this track a month before, was a strong indicator that she was a filly with some real potential.

Strong off the gate last week, she was able to lead throughout, running home in home her last 80m in 58.7 and the last 400m in 27.9, to meet a much more experienced trotter in Di'z Luck.

Today is definitely a big step up in company with the opposition having a real edge experience wise. However, if Carley Maguire finds the natural improvement out of last week's  race, expect her to take some beating. She looks a filly with a bright future.

The only other stable runner today is Out Of Aces in Race Three. A six start maiden, Out Of Aces has shown some ability in his short career. Today's field is lacking any real depth, so with some luck in the running he must rate some chance.

John has four outside drives today with Loveyoutodoit in Race Two and Hes Fast And Furious in Race Five the best of these.
