The latest acquisition for the Westview syndications is two year old filly Flashazz (in picture). Picked out by Ray Hansen at this year's yearling sales and then given the tick of approval by Robert, John and Sam the vet, Flashazz (stable name Bro) is the second foal out of the well performed racemare and Harness Jewels winner Pembrook's Delight.

Broken in by Mark Smolenski, who declared before she left his place that, "she is the real deal", Flashazz returned to the beach at the start of July for her second preparation and has continued to impress.

Last Saturday, many of her owners, the Westview Super Eighteen syndicate were in attendance as she completed the final workout of her current preparation. To quote syndicate manager Nigel Armstrong, "Bro ran her last half in a minute the last quarter in 28 seconds. Very impressive and deserves a month off for good behaviour. All going well, back in work for a month, then reassess. Go you good thing!"

Nigel also indicated that if the filly keeps progressing as she has been, that a trip to Auckland for the Young Guns heat is a real possibility.

Another of the Westview Super syndicated horses, Tuapeka Trick had his first workout for the new season at Rangiora on Wednesday. He started in a non-winners 2000m mobile and enjoyed a nice easy run, being allowed  to run home under his own steam. He was timed to run his last 400m in a slick 400m. He will be back at the workouts next week as he targets the early Sires Stakes heats.
