Westview Super Seventeen filly qualifies
It was a good day for the stable three year olds at today's Rangiora trials, with Feel The Money (in picture) and Jack Pack both qualifying and Mahksman and Henry Hubert both running nice trials. The day was completed by Robbie Burns splitting All Stars stablemates Heaven Rocks and Lazarus in a fast run 2600m stand.
Jack Pack was first up of the stable runners. After trailling until the 800m, he popped off to face the breeze. He stuck on well for a nice second, beaten by an impressive Prestonpans that had come off his back.
Westview filly Feel The Money showed good manners to trail and and fought strongly for third in her trial over the 2000m mobile. She finished just on a length behind the Kevin Townley trained Nurburgring. She has done well this time in and John will make up his mind as to where to next. A short break may be on the cards.
Henry Hubert backed up a good trial last week with another good run for second today. After racing parked for the last 1000m, he fought strongly to go down a half head behind Doitson, the last 800m run in 56.8 and the last 400m in 27.5. He is a good chance to resume next week at Addington.
Mahksman was another backing up from last week's trials and also produced a good performance. After enjoying a nice run in the one-one, he fought well for third, beaten just over two and a half lengths. The final 800m was run in 56.8 and the last 400m in 27.6. A first race start for him is not far off either.
The final runner today was Robbie Burns. After beginning well from his frontline mark, he led throughout. He was bettered late in this trial by an impressive Heaven Rocks, by one and a half lengths, with Lazarus a further one and a quarter lengths away in third. John was very pleased with Robbie Burns and will be looking for a suitable resumption for him in the coming weeks.
