Day Two - Preview
It is Nelson Summer Cup Day and there are some great chances from the stable running today.
The day kicks off for us in Race One where Tyron Bettor's Ella will start at very short odds for the Neumanns'. She was very good in her debut on Friday and only went down late to a more experienced one in Direct Control. She should simply be too good for these.
Valloria in Race Two found the line with real purpose once clear on the first day behind Saveapatrol. He will be a lot better for the experience and looks to give the Neumanns' an early race to race double. Loveyoutodit missed day one but may be the toughest to beat.
Jack Pack started favourite on the first day and just battled after leading. He is a much better horse than that and in a field lacking depth in Race Three is at least a place hope.
The Bounder goes around in Race Four. He made a mistake early on the first day and never recovered. He is well drawn here behind the mobile and is far from the worst place hope at odds.
Tuapeka Trick and De Lancome lock horns in Race Six. Both were good first day runs. Tuapeka Trick found the line good after getting pocketed the markers, while De Lancome finished strong for her placing after trailling. They are both eachway chances and are hard to separate.
Sundees Son missed the first day, but does look the one they all have to beat in Race Seven. He was so impressive at Addington on Cup Day and has been taken quietly since then. He is a class act and should be winning here. Bonnie Highlander may be his toughest to beat. She made a mistake on day one when travelling well. She is a class trotter and better manners today have her right in this and a threat to the favourite if he made a mistake.
Summer Wealth in Race Eight made a mistake on day one and had to do too much chasing thereafter. He has a motor as we have seen and with a clean getaway is a definite place hope.
Lovetodream (in photo) is a newcomer to the circuit and is in career best form. She is a great stayer and must be a huge hope in today's cup, Race Nine. Tim Williams will drive her and if they go hard, look for her to finish over the top of them. She is a great eachway hope.
The final stable runner for the day is the impressive winner from day one Feel The Money. She was quite outstanding demolishing a maiden field in a slick time, She is favoured here by the preferential barrier draw and a repeat performance does make her the one that they all have to beat. She is a filly going places.
