Kotare Cullen strong in Graduette win - next target Great Northern Oaks
A good winner at her previous start when driven by John, Kotare Cullen stepped up another gear in again leading and defeating Gold Orchid on Friday in the $30,000 Graduette for the fillies. She wiill now be thrown in the deep end with next Friday's Great Northern Oaks her next target.
In just her 7th race start, Kotare Cullen was recording win three in beating a nice field of fillies. Drawn widest of the six runners, she boomed off the gate and was a clear leader with two laps to go. Able to get away with a moderate lead time, Dexter then dictated terms over the next 800m in a tick over 63 seconds. With a 29.4 quarter down the back, she still looked to be travelling a treat at the 400m, even with the warm favourite on her back. Let rip by Dexter on the turn, she immediately found a couple of lengths, which she extended out to a convincing two and three quarter lengths at the line.
Friday night's win takes her stake-earnings to over $44,000 and there is clearly a lot more wins in the bank judging by her last two wins. She certainly desreves her chance against the likes of Bettor Joy in the Group One Oaks run for a good stake of $125,000.
Kotare Cullen goes back to back, beating a nice field of fillies in Friday's $30,000 Graduette.
