Diamonds N Cash looking to continue great grass track record

Diamonds N Cash has produced an outstanding grass track record since coming south in December and looks to continue a great run in this afternoon's Waimate Cup, Race Eight at Waimate. He looks sure to start favourite against a big field over the 2600m.

A last start 8th in hot company at Addington last week, has been the only real miss for Diamonds N Cash over the past few months. He has been a grass track winner at Methven, Rangiora and Blenheim, with a combination of good manners and staying ability. This afternoon he looks well placed off the frontline and is sure to take a forward position. Toughest to beat in today's cup are likely to be fellow frontmarkers in Swamp Major and Mossdale Rose, while Kardesler off 10m is another strong chance.

Two races later and there is another very strong chance in Onedin Reign, an impressive winner last week at Motukarara. Onedin Reign is another that has shown a penchant for the grass with her first win coming at Rangiora a month ago. Last week she came with an undeniable late run to grab Just Dance on the line at Motukarara. This field only looks marginally stronger so expect her to produce another big run for the Lane brothers. Toughest for her to beat may be Stompem and All About Henry from the frontline.

The final runner for the day is Johnny White in Race Eleven.  He is having his first start on the grass today and needs to overcome a wide frontline draw. He has shown some good form at times in the North Island and today is just his second start since coming south to Woodend Beach. He is a definite place hope at least in this line-up. Hundie will start a hot favourite for Dexter.
