Some quality fields at Ashburton this afternoon

Some quality fields at Ashburton this afternoon

It is Hambletonian Day for the three year old trotters and the stable are represented by You Really Got Me. The support card is strong also and we have in total eleven runners going around, including three in the Nevele R Heat for the three year old fillies.

The stable runners kick off in Race Four which is Heat Three in the Nevele R Fillies Series. We have Nakuru, Kotare Yolande and Anamajor in this race.

Nakuru went a good race at Addington last week in the Sales Race and she does look to be running back into form. She is perfectly drawn in barrier one and should get a soft run the trip, presenting her as a place hope at least. Drawn slightly wider out in barrier five is Kotare Yolande. A filly of massive ability, she does have her tricks and is still learning the game. She is good enough to match most here though and is probably the best placed of the stable runners in the race. Anamajor has drawn widest of our three and will need luck to feature today from the draw.

The fillies heat does look a good race with Kendra from the frontline and Methven winner Bubbled Up, likely to dominate the market.

Anytime and Kotare Cullen go up against the fillies and mares over the mile in Race Five.

Anytime has been a bit below her best the last few, but is better than that. She should get a soft run, giving her place prospects. Kotare Cullen comes out of the Group One last week, a race in which she produced a huge run for 4th. She is a quality mare and looks a major player in the race alongside the likely favourite in Kayla Marie.

Tyron Terranova has been going great guns at the trials and is on debut today in Race Six, the Sapling Stakes. This is a small, but select field, but he has copped a wide draw. On what he has shown to date, he will be competitive here and is a definite place chance.

Sundees Son (in photo) is definitely the best horse in Race Seven for the trotters. He has to overcome a 40m handicap however. He resumed last week at Addington in the feature trot and looked to have plenty left to offer when he broke. He is no good thing, but is a class horse and with any luck will not be far away.

You Really Got Me broke losing his chance at Addington last week. He is back to the mobile today in the Hambletonian. He has not been favoured by the draw however and meets a smart field of three year olds. He is a quality hose though and if he got some luck can be in the money. Cheerful and Full Noise look the toughest to bowl.

Spot On is one of best chances of the day in Race Nine. A two race winner on this track, Spot On looked home last week, only to be nailed right on the line. He is in a great run of form, is very genuine and looks a great each-way hope.

Jay Tee Tyron completes the day for us in the last. His was a nice run at Addington last Friday after working. He is a genuine type and is another good each-way hope.
