Nevele R fillies final night
Tonight is the Nevele R fillies final and we have three runners that will go around chasing the Group One glory. In what is a stellar field, our runners have not been well served by the draw and will be needing luck in the running to feature.
Nakuru and Anamajor were both heat winners at Ashburton and Forbury Park respectively. Anamajor has drawn a reasonable barrier, coming out of gate five. She will be driven by Matt Anderson tonight. She has proved competitive in the better company in the past. Nakuru was a good third at Addington last time, but has drawn the carpark here. She will need the early speed to be a hot one. John combines with her. Chevron Supreme is the other stable runner and Gav Smith takes the drive. She was an early season star in the north, but things haven't gone well in her two starts back in the south. She possesses a big motor and if she turned up in her best frame of mind, could be an upset hope.
The market in tonight's race is likely to be dominated by Princess Tiffany and and Belle Of Montana both of which are good enough to overcome second row barriers.
The night for the stable starts in Race One with Shecandance, also to be driven by Gav Smith. She was tough in holding on for her win last week. She has a perfect draw here and can grab at least a thin slice of the action here.
Franco Niven (in picture) and I'm Tough go around in Race Two. Franco Niven got things wrong early on last week. While drawn wide, he does have a class edge on many of these and may be the toughest to beat. I'm Tough could not have been more impressive on debut. He looked a horse with a future and like Franco Niven must be one of the toughest to beat.
One Majic Kenny takes in the Yearling Sales Trot final for the two year olds in Race Four. He was massive in defeat last time and draw and all, must be a very strong winning chance tonight.
Pro Surfer is our runner in Race Five. He was better last week and if he can overcome a second line barrier must be a good place hope here.
Valloria has had a good season overall and is one of the better chances in the Sires Stakes Aged Classic for the trotters in Race Six. In one of the more open races on tonight's card, he must be rated at least a place hope.
Alta Orlando takes on team All Stars and Nandolo in Race Seven. He got home well on the back of a fast last quarter last week. He rates a good place chance again here.
The consistent Spot On is a good eachway hope in Race Nine. He rates a good chance in a race likely to be dominated on the tote by The Moonshadow.
Kotare Cullen is in the final race for the evening Race Eleven. She has battled recently but is a capable mare. She may be needing luck from her draw tonight all the same.
