How the team rate on harness racings big day
We have 12 runners that will be going around at Addington tomorrow chasing jewels glory. Sundees Son in the four year old trot looks set to start a short-priced favourite and heads up some great prospects for the stable. Three year old Heisenberg (in photo) in the last looks a great chance to hold up from his draw and presents an upset chance to end the day.
Race One - Onedin Reign
In a race that looks set to be dominated by proven Group One mare Elle Mac, Onedin Reign must rate at least a place hope on what she has shown this season.
"She really needed the first up run at Rangiora on Sunday and will have taken plenty of benefit from it. It looks to be one of the more open races of the day and if she got the right sort of run, then she wouldn't be far away."
Race Two - One Majic Kenny
A trotter of some talent and on his day, he has the ability to match any here.
"I was really pleased that he got around in the trial last week to get his chance here. He has put in some massive runs the last few and if he can get away on even terms with them I am sure that he can be right in this. He has got better and better as the season has gone on."
Race Three - Spellbound and Tiffany Rose
(see news item)
Race Four - Above N Beyond
A really nice two year old that has done a good job the past couple of months.
"I don't think that he is far off the best of them, but like last time, the draw is going to make it really tough. He will be needing luck."
Race Six - Nakuru
A super run last time in the Oaks after having to do work four wide down the back.
"She has done a good job this season and the draw won't hurt. It's just a shame that the two favourites have drawn so well."
Race Seven - Henry Hubert
Good efforts against some super fields throughout the season.
"Its a really good draw and we will be looking to hold up. Obviously Turn It Up is a class act and he is the one to beat. But we are happy with our fella and he won't be far away."
Race Eight - Valloria and Sundees Son
(see news item)
Race Nine - Heisenberg
Another who has competed against the very best all season and has done well. From a great draw and with gatespeed he must be a great chance.
"Happy with how he has trained on since his last run. We have had a few issues with him and steering, but have made some gear changes that seem to have done the trick. He has the gatespeed to lead and we will look to stay in front. If he is anywhere near his Sires Stakes form in the spring he has got to be a good chance."
