Three year olds take on big All Stars team in Sires Stakes heat

Down To the Bone and Carlos Bromac have done a great job, early in their respective careers, each winning two races. Tonight the stakes are upped as they take their place in the Sires Stakes heat for the colts and geldings and in the process, go head to head with the powerful All Stars barn.

Down To The Bone was obliged to go forward from an awkward barrier last week, all but slotting into an early trail. However, squeezed out of that spot he was planted in the breeze thereafter, having to sit outside the unbeaten One Change throughout. He showed some real fight over the last 200m to finish 5th, finishing only three lengths in arrears of One Change at the line.

In tonight's heat, Down To The Bone has fared a lot better, drawing the inside barrier, something that John will no doubt look to take advantage of this evening.

Carlos Bromac has his first Addington start tonight, doing all his racing down south to start his career. He did well in winning his first two starts and at his last start in the Nuggets final was a good second to Onesmartfella after getting back in the running. This will be a big step up for him, but the draw does give him a chance of getting a slice of it all the same.

The class act One Change must be the one that they all have to beat, while the consistent Flying Even Bettor is well placed from a handy draw and is one that can do work.
