Madam Sass looking for maiden win

Madam Sass looking for maiden win

Madam Sass was sent out at cramped odds first up at Ashburton, but struggled in the difficult conditions, breaking at the 400m, when looking to issue a challenge. Tonight she heads to the all weather surface of Addington Raceway, where she is again likely to start a short priced favourite in Race Three.

Another runner for the Westview Racing No 19 and Witches of Westview No 2 syndicates, Madam Sass is a Majestic Son three year old filly. She had impressed through her trial outings, hence the short price at Methven. The work has been good since then and providing the manners are there, she must be a good eachway hope. She certainly looks a filly with plenty of potential. You can be sure that with Spellbound also on track for these owners this evening that she will have a big following.

Our three year olds are covered in separate articles, so the final runner that we look at tonight is Kotare Yolande in Race Ten. A Mach Three four year old mare raced by the Abells, Kotare Yolande showed any amount of ability last season, winning two of her eight race starts. She has had the one workout to prepare for tonight, a fortnight ago at Rangiora, when running third behind Fancy, running home boldly once in the clear.

John has been happy with her progress since that run, but was concerned about missing a run at last week's Rangiora workouts. She will certainly improve on what she does tonight but is a definite eachway shot all the same.
