Draws again no help on night two of the Inter-Doms
The draws were no help to the team on night one of the Inter-Doms and we will again be requiring a lot of luck on night two. Classie Brigade draws slightly better in his heat, while Bonnie Highlander also gets a better draw to work with in her heat.
Henry Hubert has had no luck with the draw in any of his races as of late. In the first heat of the night Race Five, he will again need plenty to go his way to figure. Over the 1700m sprint trip and with some runners fast off the gate inside him, he will need one of Johnny's best drives to get a piece of the action.
Chase Auckland from barrier one and impressive first night winner A G's White Socks from barrier three will be the two toughest to roll.
Valloria from barrier eight and Woodstone from the unruly will also need plenty to go their way in the first heat for the trotters, Race Six.
Valloria was very good on the first night, but from the wide draw and over the sprint trip will need to go a career best race to figure. Woodstone is probably in an even worse position and of more concern, will need to trot the trip, after breaks in his last couple.
Habibi Inta and Winterfell must surely be the two hardest to beat, the latter especially, after his compelling first night victory.
Classie Brigade was not able to get into the race on Friday from a difficult second line barrier. Drawn better over the sprint trip tonight, John will no doubt look to put him on the speed and give him his chance. If he can reproduce the cup week form, he is right in this.
In what looks a very hot field, San Carlo from barrier one and Ultimate Sniper from barrier seven, loom as the two toughest to beat.
The final inter-dom heat is for the trotters, Race Eight. Here we have Bonnie Highlander from barrier four and from wider out, Pres Da Belle.
Bonnie Highlander (in picture) was seen to good effect late in proceeedings on Friday. She is drawn to go forward from her gate and if anywhere near her best tonight can definitely run in the money. Pres Da Belle was disappointing on Friday after some earlier encouraging runs. She can certainly improve on that run and if she does, is not the worst place chance.
Marcoola from barrier one is the one they all have to beat after appearing slightly unlucky in his heat the other night.
We have the one runner tonight on the undercard. In Race One the in-form Megastar will go around. While there is plenty of gatespeed inside him, he is a definite each-way hope on his current form.
