Big Friday ahead for John
Never one to shirk hard work, John will have a particularly busy day tomorrow with 12 drives. He has six drives at the Addington day meeting, before flying to Auckland for another book of six drives at Alexandra Park. Eight of John's drives are on runners trained by dad Robert.
Addington - Day Meeting
John's day kicks off with the Mitchell Kerr trained William Wallace in Race Four. William Wallace proved himself as one of the better two year olds going around last season and from the ace draw tomorrow does look likely to start at cramped odds and should start the day on a winning note for John.
John will drive Zeddie Marit for his cousin Tom Bagrie in Race Five. Out of form at present, Zeddie Marit has raced well from behind the mobile in the past. In what looks a competitive field he will need some luck from the draw.
Guido Da Sienna is John's drive for Andrew Stuart in Race Six. There is little form to recommend him and will need plenty of luck in the running to figure.
Pres Da Belle raced solidly in the Inter-Doms in Auckland, narrowly missing a spot in the final. She is back in the south and looks a good chance in Race Seven. Her big issue is the wide draw and she will need some luck in the running. She is up to any of these and is at least a place hope.
Stars Tonight is the stable runner in Race Eight for the junior drivers. He is well placed, has a good driver, with Ben Hope to drive and does look a great winning chance.
It is another Tom Bagrie trained runner The Governor, that John combines with in Race Nine. He has been running some nice races, but has to overcome a difficult second line draw. If he got the right run, he would be a place hope.
Sugar Loaf has been super in her two starts to date and looks a great chance for the stable in Race Ten. She was super on debut and came from well back last time for her second placing in a Sires Stakes heat.
Alexandra Park - Night meeting
John's first drive of the night is Down To The Bone in Race Three. He has been racing against strong fields for some time and this does look a drop-back. From barrier five and in a small eight horse field, he will get his chance. He looks a great winning chance.
Resonate to be driven by John and Swiss Miss to be driven by Peter Ferguson, are the stable runners in Race Four. Both runners were well supported last week, but late breaks proved costly. With their best manners, both are winning hopes here.
Jay Tee Tyron goes around for John in Race Five. He is going solid races, but will need to be at his best here to figure. He is a place hope with a little bit of luck.
Pretty Majestic is a newbie for the stable that goes around in Race Six. She is well-performed and based on last week's workout must be a good eachway hope.
Mighty Looee is our runner in Race Seven. He has had no luck of late, but gets into a very winnable race. He looks sure to be well supported and looks a value eachway bet.
John's final drive of the day is Bettor's Heart in Race Eight. She was superb last week in the Queen Of Hearts and a similar effort here should see her complete the night on a positive night for John.
