Three year olds continue push towards feature events

Three year olds continue push towards feature events

We have another big team in at Addington tonight, including smart three year olds Heroes Square, Carlos Bromac and Sugar Loaf. There are also two debutantes to go around in Dolce Vita and Alluring Tyron.

The night will kick of for us in Race One, a Sires Stakes Trotters Prelude. Our two runners are One Majic Kenny and filly Madam Sass. One Majic Kenny was as game as anything in running second to Cracker Hill at Ashburton in the Hambletonian. The manners were much better on that occasion and he does loom as the main threat to favourite Cracker Hill this evening.

Madam Sass has had a good season to date but from the draw she does face a stiff task. She is very capable though and a definite place hope with that bit of luck that is always needed.

Race Two is a non winners event and sees Got You Covered and Dolce Vita go around. Got You Covered debuted in a stronger field last month and does have a nice draw to work with. He is certainly a place chance in this field. Dolce Vita debuts here and has indicated with trials and workouts that she is a nice type. She will need to overcome a wide draw, but is a place hope here also.

Jay Tee Tyron and Stars Tonight are both in form runners and are well drawn in the race for the intermediate grade pacers, Race Three. Jay Tee Tyron got well back last time in the Cheviot Cup, but rattled home late. He should get a soft trip here and rates a leading chance. Stars Tonight comes out of the same race. He came off the backmark in that race and was seen to be doing his best work late finishing 4th. It is very hard to separate the pair that are both really good each-way chances.

Three year old filly Sugar Loaf has been so good in her four starts to date and resumes in a Nevele R fillies heat, Race Four. She trialled up well last week, has drawn a good marble and should again give a good account of herself in a race that features smart filly Stylish Memphis.

The Player looked a promising type through the late winter and resumes in Race Five. He is generally well mannered, trialled up well last week and is a good place hope at least first up.

Two year old filly Alluring Tyron makes her debut in Race Seven. She takes on a field with little exposed form. While drawn out a bit, her trials form suggests that she must be at least a place hope first up.

We have two runners still in contention for this year's New Zealand Derby go around in Race Eight. Carlos Bromac is first up but has drawn handily. On his best form he rates as a place hope here. Heroes Square has turned heads in his two starts to date, He comes from the second line here so will need luck. He has been so impressive though in those two wins that he rates as a very good each-way hope again.
