  • Heisenberg looking to progress cup preparation
Art Major five year old Heisenberg looks set to provide a third runner for Diamond Racing in this year's New Zealand Cup. He has been good throughout his spring campaign, often with little luck, but should appreciate a drop in class at Addington tonight.

  • Impressive win by Heisenberg heads up four win bag for stable
Previously winless this season, Heisenberg was a strong winner at Addington this evening as he continues his path towards the New Zealand Cup on the course in three weeks time. On what turned out a great night for Diamond Racing, Heisenberg was one of four individual winners for the stable from just the nine starters.

  • The opportunities for our cup class pair of Classie Brigade and Henry Hubert are fast diminishing, therefore it was imperative that they showed they were on track at Addington last evening. Neither disappointed, with Classie Brigade setting a new New Zealand record of 3.08.9 for the 2600m stand and Henry Hubert much better in running second, just a length adrift of his stablemate at the line.

  • Further opportunity for the cup horses to shine
With the 2020 New Zealand Trotting Cup now under four weeks away, cup aspirants are running short on opportunities to find their best form. For our two cup class horses Henry Hubert and Classie Brigade, tonight's 2600m handicap for the faster class horses gives them that further opportunity to show their best wares.

  • One of the better bred types on debut at Methven today was Bettor's Delight three year old gelding Bryan Boru. A full brother to the former top mare Piccadilly Princess, he did not disappoint, with a winning debut. What is a surprise though is that his debut today was as a trotter, rather than what he is bred to do, pace!

  • Dashing Major produces standout performance on winless night for team
On a particularly cold spring night, the winning run of late was stalled, with five placings as good as it got. It was the debutante amongst these - Dashing Major - that caught the eye with a stunning first up run for third, against two proven Group One performers in Krug and It's All About Faith.

  • A great night of Premier Racing tonight at Addington
After a superb Canterbury spring day, it should be a cracking night at Addington this evening. With 18 runners in, throughout the night, we have a host of chances. The feature races on the evening are the Canterbury Park Trotting Cup, the Canterbury Classic, the New Zealand Bloodstock Harness Millions for the three year old fillies and the three year old trotters.

  • He was backed as though unbeatable and in the end it was simply a romp in the park for Sundees Son as he jogged to the line a four length winner in tonight's Canterbury Park Trotting Cup. He now looks set to start the shortest of favourites in this year's Group One Dominion Handicap.

A Group Three winner at Addington last week, Classie Brigade heads to Oamaru this afternoon looking for more Group Three spoils in the Hannon Memorial.

  • It was a rare Thursday night meet at Addington last night and the stable was again strongly represented. Maidens Aimee's First Meddle and Got You Covered delivered good maiden wins, while Need You Now again enhanced her reputation as one of the top mares in the country, dealing to a good field of mares in convincing fashion.

  • Got You Covered well placed for maiden win
Three year old Art Major gelding Got You Covered has been one of the more consistent performers from the stable through the late winter period. He looks well placed to deliver his maiden win in the first race at Addington this evening.

  • The Meadowlands Pace is one of the highlights on the North American harness racing calendar and was a race that Dexter was narrowly beaten in last year driving Bettor's Wish. While his drive this year, Major Betts, finished amongst the beaten brigade, the day was a good one for Dexter with three winning drives and four placings.

  • Stable junior driver Korbyn Newman has only been with us for just over a month, but made a big statement at Addington on Friday night reining home two winners for Diamond Racing, both at big odds. The way he was driving on Friday, you would have to rate his chances today with his one drive Prodigal Guinness.

  • The rain has disappeared and it looks set to be a super afternoon in the sun at Addington. We have three nice chances today starting with Yuri in Race One.

  • Some good chances throughout the night at Addington
We are into day two of the latter part of the 2019-2020 season and the action is again at Addington, but this time under lights. Diamond Racing are well represented through the 12 race card.

  • It's good to be back
While it had been two months since we last raced, for driver John Dunn, it was a case of getting back to doing what he does so well, driving winners. With three wins, all courtesy of outside drives and three placings from as many starters with stable runners, it was a superb first day back at the coalface for Diamond Racing's stable driver.

  • January was a busy month for the stable, with the holiday period seeing stable runners all over the country. Without a doubt though, the January highlight must go to Heisenberg after his New Zealand Record winning effort in the re-run of the Central Otago Cup at Wyndham.

  • The inter-dominions continued at Alexandra Park and we continued to be plagued by bad draws that would ultimately scuttle the inter-dom hopes for most of the team. However, come Grand Final night, the brave runs for 4th by Valloria in the trotters grand final and 2nd by Classie Brigade in the pacers consolation salvaged some pride for the team.

  • For everyone in harness racing, November is like grand final time in racing, with features such as the NZ Cup, Dominion Handicap and Sires Stakes final that all play out. We would be there for all of November's big days, but for Robert, it is 4 November that he will long remember, the day that courtesy of Heisenberg, he trained his 1500th New Zealand winner.

  • In terms of the season's racing, October would have to be our most disappointing. The derailing of Sundees Son's Dominion Handicap campaign and the uncertainty over a start in next month's cup for Henry Hubert definitely put a downer on things. It was the deeds of Dexter over in the USA that kept the spirits high, especially after his two Breeders Crowns at the end of the month.

  • With September signalling the start of spring, some of the big guns were going to be heading back to the track. For our stable, there was huge excitement around the reappearance of Sundees Son and with two starts in September, he did not disappoint, promising a huge season ahead.
