  • Sundees Son chases Rowe Cup victory
    Only considered a runners chance in last week's ANZAC Cup at Group One level, Sundees Son defied the form pundits, delivering a knockout blow to New Zealand's best square-gaiters. Tonight he returns to Alexandra Park as a form horse and undoubtedly looms as one of the key chances in the Rowe Cup.

  • Rowe Cup win a major milestone for stable
    The former rebel with one of trotting's biggest motors has well and truly grown up. The ANZAC Cup win at Group One level last week was huge, but for Robert and John, trainer and driver, winning the Rowe Cup this evening was a major milestone in their respective careers.

  • Sundees Son just wow in ANZAC Cup win
    The meteoric rise to the top of the trotting ranks went to next level for Sundees Son at Alexandra Park this evening, as he put paid to the best in the business in the Group One ANZAC Cup. For owners Colin and Nancy Hair to finally see their champ put it all together when it counted must have been satisfaction on the highest level.

  • Breeding to the fore in pair of stylish victories
    Kabet - 6 wins and Cullen's Mercy - 5 wins, were nice mares that were trained by Robert. Yesterday at Addington the first progency from each to reach the racetrack, delivered their maiden victory which in the case of Above N Beyond also doubled as a Sires Stakes heat win.

  • Alta Maetro chasing the Easter Bunny at Addington
    There are some good fields are Addington this afternoon, with the Easter Bunny handicap for the fast class pacers one of the highlights. We have 14 runners that will represent the stable over a long afternoon of racing.

    Competitive against the best three year olds all season, Heisenberg proved too strong in yesterday's Kotare Downs Stakes, with stablemate Franco Niven a strong third.

  • Easter Cup night review
    Our big team did us proud on Friday night at Addington, with the Group One second to Sundees Son in the New Zealand Trotting Championship the individual highlight. Henry Hubert was a brave 4th in the Easter Cup after leading, while Franco Niven was a narrow but impressive winner in the lower grades.

  • Westview pair chase Grey Valley Cup at Reefton
    It has already been a great weekend for Nigel and Brenda Armstrong and their Westview syndications. Feel The Money was a 14.5 length winner at Westport on Friday, while Spellbound won her second Group One in six days at Invercargill yesterday. Today they have Feel The Money and Tuapeka Trick set to go around in the Grey Valley Cup.

  • Good team travels South for Northern Southland Cup Day
    It is a big day in the deep South with the Northern Southland Cup the day's feature. We are represented by the in-form Henry Hubert and Alta Maestro. The exciting Spellbound looks to make it three from three in the Alabar Fillies Classic.

  • It was a ripper of a day at the Northern Southland meeting today with Group Three wins to both Spellbound and Henry Hubert. They followed off the back of an excellent Group One placing by Tiffany Rose at Alexandra Park last night.

  • Six win weekend for stable
    What a cracker of a weekend it was for the stable. After wins at Alexandra Park on Friday - Bonnie Highlander and Aha Reaction, it was even better at Addington yesterday with Franco Niven, Spellbound, Sundees Son and Onedin Reign all delivering.

  • Long a trotter with a big stable rep, Bonnie Highlander has at times not helped herself with gallops at crucial times in her races. However, on Friday at Alexandra Park, in the Group Three Breeders Stakes, she put it all together to totally dominant a good mares field.

  • Spellbound chases Group Three. Big representation in cup
    It is a great Canterbury day and there should be a decent sized crowd this afternoon at Addington, for the annual Cheviot Cup meet. The cup features four stable runners, but it is the filly Spellbound and her big band of owners which may attract the most interest on the day.

  • Nakuru and Sundees Son return to form at Ashburton
    After looking like an early season star amongst the fillies, Nakuru's form went off during a failed norther campaign. However, a win in a Nevele R fillies heat over stablemate Kotare Yolande has her back on track for upcoming autumn features.

  • It was a very special night at Addington last evening in many respects. A night that can only be described as Nigel Armstrong night. Small in stature, but with a big heart and big ideas, Nigel's filly Spellbound produced an emphatic winning performance on debut, while his fundraiser raised significant money for Peter Davis and Margo Nyhan to aid their recovery.
