    Robbie Burns has done a good job since coming back down south last year. He was a strong finishing second behind Tiger Thompson in the Omakau Cup last time and a repeat of that sees him the horse to beat in today's Invercargill Cup.

  • Bonnie Highlander caps off winning treble for the Neumann brothers
    Alan and Ian Neumann have been involved in harness racing for many years and have raced a number of good horses, including most recently The Brooklyn Brawler, now in Australia. However, until Sunday, they had never owned a winning treble in a day. That was well and truly put to rest as their three runners - Tyron Bettor's Ella, Valloria and Bonnie's Highlander all delivered winning perfromances.

    Considered good enough to mix it with some of the best fillies of her age in her previous eight starts, De Lancôme has always been a well regarded filly in the Robert Dunn stable. The only surprise is that it has taken her nine starts to register her maiden win, a win that came on a wet and gloomy Timaru afternoon.

  • Tuapeka Trick puts Westview Super Seventeen on the winners list
    It was never a case of if he would get his first win, but rather when, for Bettor's Delight three year old Tuapeka Trick. Good enough to run a Group Three placing as a two year old, he has raced against some nice types throughout his short career. But at Omakau on Tuesday, he dealt to his maiden opponents by just over two lengths, the first of many victories we hope for his great crew of owners.

    Undoubtedly the most consistent mare to go around Addington this season, Lovetodream has done a fantastic job for her owners Shirley Cummings, Suzanne Williams and Keryn Woodham. After a run of eight placings, she finally recorded a win at Motukarara a fortnight ago. At Addington this evening, she recorded her second win on the bounce, defeating the two favourites Don Domingo and Maverick.

However, a great run of form over cup week, has been followed by more success over the last couple of days, both from catch drives. John looks to have a great chance of success in one of the day's features at Methven, the Green Mile for the trotters, in which he will again partner Harriet Of Mot.
