  • We just had the three runners engaged today at the Ashburton trials, but you could not help but be impressed with their efforts. A winning performance by Tyron's Bit Of A Lemon in 1.55.2 for the mile was an impressive effort.

  • Three year old trotter You Really Got Me looked one of the nicer two year olds going around last season with a third placing in the Group Three Sires Stakes his season highlight. His winning performance at Methven this afternoon suggests that he will again be competitive in the best company in some of the upcoming features.

The once brilliant juvenile pacer Alta Maestro, continued his development as a four year old pacer at Rangiora this afternoon producing a good staying effort for his owners Stu and Liz Leadley in winning today's Amberley Cup.

  • There has never been any doubting of the motor Kotare Yolande possesses. The question has been how long before the manners match up with the motor. Today at Geraldine, she put on an impeccable performance to win like a very good filly.

  • The stable look set to dominate on day one at Nelson

  • Matt on the board with first training win of the season
Woodend Beach reinsman Matt Anderson must have been learning a few tips off the boss John Dunn recently based on his driving at Rangiora yesterday. With two wins and a close up second it could be described as a really good day at the office. That day was even more impressive though considering that one of Matt's driving wins Linton Shard, is also a horse that he trains.

  • Its a big day for our three year olds
It is Auckland Cup day at Alexandra Park and a great field as always is assembled for that event. There are no stable runners though in this year's field. Instead the focus will be on the three year old features - for the fillies - with Chevron Supreme and Nakuru both good chances and for the colts and geldings - with Heisenberg well drawn.
