  • Top three year olds are back for Spring campaign
    Heisenberg, Spot On and Stars Tonight all showed out last season as two year olds. Tonight at Addington, they begin their new season campaign. All three have had a trial and a workout to prepare for this evening.

  • Big representation in today's Hannon Memorial
    The Hannon Memorial has been a long-standing feature of the New Zealand harness racing season and is regarded as a trditional lead-up to November's New Zealand Trotting Cup. This afternoon, the Robert Dunn stable are represented by five starters from the stable.

  • Letspendanitetogetha highlights a top night for stable
    A horse that has always been highly regarded in the Robert Dunn stable, Letspendanitetogetha has had his share of issues throughout his racing career. In what was a perfectly timed drive by catch diver Jimmy Curtin last night, he came from a mile off them on the turn to win like a very good horse.

  • Alta Orlando begins cup campaign
    A late season star amongst the open class pacing ranks Alta Orlando begins his NZ Cup campaign tomorrow night at Addington. He is joined by stablemates Letspendanitetogetha and Captain Dolmio, both of which began their season last week.

  • While it was great to see the cup pacers including Captain Dolmio back on track last night, it was the new generation that were the real stars on the night for the Diamond Racing Stables. Wins to both Nakuru and Pro Surfer on debut marked them as a pair of very promising pacers coming through the ranks.

  • Four year old mare De Lancome has had little luck in her recent starts, plagued by a series of poor barrier draws. But on Friday night, from a handy draw and courtesy of a great drive by Ben Hope, she was too good for a field of mares over the 1980m.

    A very good second at his last start on Sunday at Rangiora, Wrangler does look overdue for another win. He and stablemate Hayden's Meddle clash in a handy intermediate grade race at Addington this Friday.

    Today is the first Rangiora meeting for the 2018-2019 season and there are the five stable runners to go around. Each of these are at least eachway hopes on what appears to be an even card.

  • The Captain continues his comeback
    After the disappointment of missing all of last season, things are looking a lot better for the Grinfromeartoear 7yr old Captain Dolmio in his early preparations for this year's New Zealand Cup. He followed up a trial placing last week behind Cash N Flow, with a good win at yesterday's Rangiora workouts.

  • A great season for the stable juniors
    Top of the class is clearly Matt Anderson, the premiership winner on 43 wins, some six wins ahead of his closest challenger, northern reinsman Benjamin Butcher. Matt was a late season addition to the Woodend Beach team but never looked back reining home some good winners in his charge for the title.

  • Stable juniors chase Drivers' Championship title
    Beginning tonight at Forbury Park, the two stable juniors Jack MacKinnon and Matt Andersen chase the glory of being crowned NZ Junior Drivers Champion for 2018. With a good book tonight and tomorrow at Addington, they both have a great chance of winning the coveted title.

  • Century of wins on horizon for the Robert Dunn stable
    It has already been a really good season as far as wins go - 95 wins and with a new seasonal earnings total 1.3 million. With some good chamces again this weekend, another century of wins appears highly likely.

  • Northern trotters look to continue good form
    It has been a superb month in the north for Colin Hair's trotters - Woodstone and Sundees Son. Woodstone won three on end before a good second last time, while Sundees Son was a dominant last start winner after being unlucky in the Harness Jewels at his previous start. Tonight they go head to head at Alexandra Park.

  • Diamonds N Cash massive in winter cup win
    Deserted by punters after a first day break, Diamonds N Cash was allowed to go around today at odds of 23-1. After stepping well he was put to sleep on the rails, was a mile off the leaders at the 800m, but after taking shortcuts, stormed home to grab favourite Forgotten Highway short of the line.

  • First day winners to do battle
    It was the three year old fillies Feel The Money (in picture) and Monkey Princess that did the honours for the stable on day one at Nelson. Today those two promising fillies will do battle in the last of the day. But before that, there are six other runners with chances of adding to the weekend winning tally.

  • Stable return to successful stomping ground
    Tomorrow is the first of the two day meet for the Nelson Harness. John heads north with a team of nine horses and looks to continue a good run on the course. For junior driver Matt Anderson it is a further opportunity to increase his lead in the junior drivers premiership.
