  • Nelson Review
It has been a nice two days up in Nelson and while there was no winning joy today, the weekend has been a success. The winning run of Soundslikeart on Friday backed up by a nice third today probably marked her as our star performer of the weekend.

  • Bill and Ben a likely combination to follow at Omakau
A driver with hot hands over the holiday period has been Woodend junior Ben Hope. To add further weight to this, when he puts on the Robert Dunn colours he seems to be almost unbeatable. Tomorrow at Omakau, Ben combines with Kensington Bill, himself an impressive winner in his sole start as a pacer. The pair will be at cramped odds in the race for the junior drivers.

  • Classie Brigade looking to produce his best two mile form in Cup
An unlucky third in the New Zealand Cup last month, Classie Brigade will be looking to replicate that form when he takes on a very strong All Stars contingent at Alexandra Park this evening. After little luck in his inter-dominion campaign, he will be looking to use his best manners early on to take a forward spot and for the cup to be a true run staying test.

  • Soundslikeart too good for Ben Hope
Soundslikeart looked a certainty beaten in her most recent start at Motukarara, but today in the hands of Woodend junior Ben Hope, was too good in junior drivers company, also on that track. The win was her first since coming to New Zealand and the third of her 22 start career.

  • Heisenberg rewarded for consistency with cup win
Heisenberg has raced consistency in all starts this campaign, but since his Kaikoura win has kept finding one better. However, today at Ashburton and over the 3200m trip, he stepped well early to secure a sweet trail behind Nandolo and then proved too strong once he got his run in the home straight.

  • Pres Da Belle relishes dropback in company
Pres Da Belle had proved competitive against the very best trotters throughout the Inter-Dominion series, narrowly missing a place in the final. Back at Addington today and against appreciably easier company, she proved much too good after leading throughout.

Never one to shirk hard work, John will have a particularly busy day tomorrow with 12 drives. He has six drives at the Addington day meeting, before flying to Auckland for another book of six drives at Alexandra Park. Eight of John's drives are on runners trained by dad Robert.

  • Ashley Locaz gives John a nice chance in Pacers Grand Final
It has been an interesting week for driver John Dunn. Just as he was getting over the disappointment of Classie Brigade not making this year's Inter-Dom Pacers Grand Final, he received a phone call from the All Stars stable offering him the drive on Ashley Locaz in the final.

  • Need You Now perfectly drawn in fillies Group One
A convincing win in her first look at Alexandra Park last Friday night, Need You Now is again well drawn and a great chance in this week's Peter Breckon Caduceus Club Stakes on Inter-Dominion grand final night on Saturday. Amazing Dream and stablemate Spellbound will again be the two toughest to beat.

Tomorrow night at Alexandra Park is the final round of Inter-Dom heats. For some of our stable hopefuls, they will be looking for good placings to ensure their safe passage into next week's Grand Finals.

  • Draws again no help on night two of the Inter-Doms
The draws were no help to the team on night one of the Inter-Doms and we will again be requiring a lot of luck on night two. Classie Brigade draws slightly better in his heat, while Bonnie Highlander also gets a better draw to work with in her heat.

  • Draw a big advantage to Classie Brigade in the Free-For-All
Following his big run for third in Tuesday's New Zealand Trotting Cup, Classie Brigade has been thrown a big advantage in today's Free-For-All, coming up with the coveted inside barrier over the 1980m. Stablemate Henry Hubert, which also produced a massive run in the cup, is well placed coming out of barrier four, while the All Stars pair that quinellaed the cup, will need to overcome wide barriers.

With three runners in-form runners in today's Sires Stakes final at Addington, we hold a strong hand. Above N Beyond and Down To The Bone are drawn to get nice runs on the markers, while Mighty Looee has a tougher task having to come out of barrier six.

  • Cruz too good. Our boys do us proud.
The 2019 New Zealand Trotting Cup belonged to the All Stars and Blair Orange as their least favoured runner Cruz Bromac proved too strong over the last 100m for pre-post favourite Spankem. In a driving finish, Cruz Bromac got up for a neck victory for Orange, giving him his first win in the great race. Classie Brigade did a superb job getting up for third, beaten just a length after being late clearing traffic, while perhaps the run of the race was Henry Hubert in finishing 6th, but under two lengths from the winner at the line.
